The People UpStairs have been performing for over 13 years!

Holy shit we haven’t made it yet? Well, probably not going to happen but at least the still are having fun!

Founded in 2001, the main band members have all remained constant. Plus or minus a few mulligans.

One guy decided to become a heroin junky. One guy went to the army….no make that two guys.  We have added a mediocre saxophone player. Of course the occasional fill in guitar or bass player. (Depending on who has their period) And recently an accordian player who keeps showing up to practice and gigs, even though on one asked him to, and we don’t pay him….

Now after all this time, we still have the camaraderie and the chemistry that makes us fun to watch. We are a family.

Watching our brothers go through marriage, divorce, kids, taking care of other peoples kids, more divorce, more marriage, jail, beating cancer, and other issues, this family is like any other.

We are not the best band in south florida.

We are not the best musicians.

We are not the best song writers and performers.

We are not the best at anything really, except having fun.

And that, I feel, is what has kept us around in the south florida scene for so long. People love watching us have a good time. And thats what its all about.
